1946 Ernő and László returned home. László was gravely
ill, the local physician did not even send him to hospital,
giving him up. After a year's torments, he was brought to
the clinic of neurology and psychiatry in Győr where he was
treated for nearly a year. After his recovery, he began working
again at the Győr Wagon Factory as a body-ironer. At the same
time, László Alexovics, another artist was also working there
to make a living. He soon noticed László who embossed portraits
from sheet scraps. That was how he perpetuated the portraits
of several colleagues, friends, village buddies and girl-friends.
László Alexovics had an evening art course where he invited
László, who began learning to draw in an evening class.
1950. The
"bright winds" also whipped László up and, with
